Marine First Aid Course

Our Marine First Aid Course is tailored for sailors, powerboaters and sea farers and elements of the course are certified by the Pre-Hospital Emergency Care Council (PHECC) and Irish heart foundation. The course is aimed at any individual or group that would like to gain a basic understanding of First Aid, AED use and CPR.

Who should do this course?

Those who wish to gain competence in administering first aid on board pleasure craft and in a marine environment. Useful for parents of junior sailors, instructors, club committee, fishermen, sailors, powerboaters.

Objectives

To gain the knowledge and confidence to successfully administer first aid, use an AED defibrillator, assess a patient by primary and secondary survey, treat seasickness, hypothermia, heart attack and stroke.

Course Structure

This course will run over one day from 10.30am to 6pm with a break at lunchtime. Prior to the course, candidates will be emailed some course notes. You should take some time to study these notes. On the day of your course, your instructor will take you through some power point slides as well as practical elements of CPR, first aid and how to treat various illnesses. The course will take place at the old driving range, Salthill, Galway, H91E9C3.

Course Cost

€200 per person.
